Ep307: Every Story is Worth Sharing Out Loud with Personal Branding Expert Celinne Da Costa
February 21, 2022
Some would say that great stories happen to those who can tell them. The same philosophy is especially true for the exquisite storyteller and personal branding expert, Celinne Da Costa, as she has made it her mission to bring the best version out of everyone.
Having worked with well-known names such as Business Insider, Forbes, and many more, writing has a much deeper meaning to Celinne than just “pretty words on paper”. For her, a story has the potential to change lives, get results, and bring out the best in people. She still finds it surprising how much a good story can do and she believes that everyone has a story worth sharing out loud.
“What storytelling does is it’s the most powerful tool you can have in your tool belt to really get whatever is in your heart and transmit it as efficiently as possible into the hearts and souls of another human being.”
But having such a powerful tool demands a good amount of dedication to honing and learning the craft. Celinne, however, doesn’t think of it as a complicated art, all it takes is commitment and constant practice. With the right words and a creative perspective, you can take an average day and tell it in the most thrilling way possible.
“I’m gonna level with you, you’re gonna screw up. There’s gonna be captions you write that are gonna be like ‘eww cringe’, there’s going to be things that you say that get crickets,” she says, “but are you showing up every day and practising the exercising muscle of truly expressing yourself from where you need to go?”
Celinne wants us to remember the joy of expression and to celebrate ourselves more after she explains that she has encountered amazing people who were doubtful about sharing the wonderful things they’ve done because they felt that it “wasn’t worth telling.” However, she knows every person has a good story that’s just waiting to be told, the only thing holding us back are the reasons we give ourselves.
“Before we can really build up a story, you have to ask yourself the question and actually have the courage to look; why is it that you’re not sharing in the first place and be willing to look beyond the superficial reason that instantly comes to you.”
